Getting Bitcoin addresses from old wallet.aes.json file?
I have a bunch of old backup wallets that I have lost the passwords for. I'm fairly certain there is some BTC/BCH in some of them and want to isolate a few wallets to try and remember my passwords... My question is, is there a way to view any information about the encrypted wallets? I'm hoping to find a balance or something on one of them.
MKCY token distribution is ongoing, have you received yours? Ensure that your provided wallet address is compatible and that you have carried out the necessitated identity verification (KYC/AML). If all is in place, your tokens will get to you. #Markaccy #markaccy #MKCY #defi #bitcoin #ethereum
QUESTION: Beside keeping an address secret, is there another way to keep a BTC address from getting dusted? In other words, can I lock a BTC address so no more bitcoin can be sent to the address? (x-post from /r/Bitcoin)

MVP idea and link: get the net financial position of your bitcoin address
The problem: most crypto tax services only handle your csvs from exchanges but don't analyze the blockchain to see the net gain/loss of your bitcoin transactions as not all gains/losses are on an exchange or they might be on many Possible solution MVP: a website that reads your bitcoin transactions and tells you the net position based on the transactions in and out. You can also manually correct them if they are sent to your own wallet or were bought at another time. My MVP (not yet working completely and very ugly but wanted to share with you all anyway): https://james-sangalli.github.io/crypto-position/bitcoin/bitcoin-position.html Enter your bitcoin address in it. Would you'll benefit from such a service? leave your comments below
How to get transaction history for a ledger Bitcoin address
Hey so I'm an Aussie and we've got the mother of all regulations on crypto here. Our federal tax office wants every transaction, from every address, all of the fees, the prices of all tokens involved in AUD at the time of transaction. Etc. Etc. Long story short, I need to get alot of data for my tax agent. And the bit I'm up to, is getting the bitcoin transactions in CSV form, from my ledger. The built in 'export transactions as CSV' feature on ledger live doesn't have enough data to satiate Australian tax regulations. However, looking up the Ethereum wallet addresses listed on ledger live with something like etherscan, does provide me with enough info to export as a CSV. I get a nice list of transactions in and out of that wallet address, fees, times etc. I need the same thing for my Bitcoin addresses. But when I look them up on the public blockchain with something like blockstream, I get this giant list of fractured data, with confirmations and all kinds of unnecessary info, but not the essential stuff, like a transaction history. It's hard to even find the total balance for a single wallet, that I can easily see on ledger live. Does anyone know how to get a nice, linear transaction history from a Bitcoin address, complete with fees, time, hash number etc. So I can give it to the tax man? And for other Aussies out there suffering, if I can tie up this last loose end ill do up a little guide for the rest of us trying to get through this shit
